LONDON BAGGIES LOGO

I recently designed an updated logo for the London branch of West Bromwich Albion's supporters club. The logo shows a slightly more rotund throstle than the one used in the official badge along with some of London's most famous landmarks. The logo is in the club's traditional blue and white stripes.

September marketing campaign

It's been a while since I last posted so I thought it would be a good idea to bung up some shots of the latest mail-outs that have just gone out to 200 hundred or so lucky people. Time will tell if it bears any fruit but I must say I was really happy with the postcards and business cards that I ordered from the good folk at www.moo.com. I got three different designs of postcard and eight for the business cards which, when layed out, looks like a mini folio.

Anyway, here they are:

Illustration featured on Creative Review website

I'm very excited that the covers I illustrated for Bloomsbury Books have been featured on the Creative Review feed and illustration sections on their website: http://www.creativereview.co.uk/feed

It will obviously not be live forever so I've taken screen grabs as a reminder.

BLOOMSBURY BOOK COVERS

This is my first illustration commission for Bloomsbury Books. I've really enjoyed doing these and there are now six in the series by author Cathy MacPhail. Overall I'm really pleased with them and it would be great if it lead to more work like this. I've left the typography off all the covers apart from the first.

See these covers in more detail in the illustration section at: www.thescribbler.co.uk

New online portfolio

Well I decided to invest in advertising on the Creative Finder website in the hope that there would be some interest in my work over the pond and nearer to home. Pleasingly, within a few hours I got an email  from someone in America who had seen it and liked my illustration work.

Experiments with digital drawing

I've had a possile breakthrough today. After months of not being particularly happy with the results I was getting from my Bamboo wacom tablet in Photoshop I tried drawing in Illustrator. It seems pretty authentic and a lot more in tune with the pressure of the pen.

I then took it into photoshop and coloured it up. Not bad.

First Post

Hi. I think this site is looking ok so here goes...

I'm going to try to use this blog as a record of the illustration work that I do but also to act as a digital scrapbook for the inspiring stuff that I come across but often do nothing with.

My main illustration portfolio can be found here:
