WEDDING INVITE

I was asked to illustrate a wedding invite recently which is both a great honour and a highly creative project. The bride wanted to feature the church and the adjoining orchard.


INITIAL IDEAS:
Some pencil roughs for composition etc

FINAL PENCIL DRAWINGS:
I wanted the design to be colourful (for a spring wedding) and decorative.

FINAL PEN DRAWING:
In a change to how I normally work, I experimented with completing the final drawing in Illustrator.The fluid nature of the calligraphic brushes allows you to draw quite spontaneously.

THE FINISHED ILLUSTRATION:

After drawing the image in pen I used Photoshop to add the colour, keeping to quite a limited palette.
